UN DPI Baku, Azerbaijan Seeks English Native Speakers as Interns
The office of the Department of Public Information in Azerbaijan is pleased to announce the availability for English native speakers as interns.
Located in the UN House in the capital of Azerbaijan the DPI office as one of UN Information offices, seeks for recent graduate or current students, preferably in internationals relations or political science, with intellectual curiosity and ability to work in a small, team-oriented environment operating under strict deadlines.
Day-to-day operational work: essentially an editing and copy-editing assignment; much of the work involves being able to put texts that have been written by Azerbaijani speaking interns into correct and appropriate English and help them improve their overall communication/written capacity.
In addition, the candidate is expected to participate, to limited extent, in day-to-day operational tasks, that are typical of UN organizations. This may include for example, servicing requests for information, support for presentations, projects, internal reporting; gathering and disseminating information, updating website content, and basic familiarity with Adobe Photoshop is a plus.
The interns will also cooperate on the proofreading of our publication; editing stories, documents and our web-site in collaboration with the authors; write annotations and/or short articles.
This is an unpaid internship. Duration of the programme is three/six months. Prior intern or job experience not required. Knowledge of Azerbaijani is not necessary; however, being a native English speaker who lives and studies in Azerbaijan is perhaps the best option.
Please submit your application (cover letter, resume) to the UN DPI Office: 3, UN 50th Anniversary Street, Baku, Azerbaijan, AZ 1001or via e-mail: email@example.com
